During the pandemic, many ʻohana were searching for additional resources to keep their keiki entertained and engaged. To provide parents and caregivers a few minutes of precious relief, Kona Historical Society launched a virtual story time on its Facebook page. The featured stories are between 5 and 20 minutes long.

Gather around your computer, phone, or tablet together to enjoy short stories about Kona’s unique history and heritage. Some of the books shared will transport viewers back to the past or take them down memory lane. Other selected books aim to spark curiosity, smiles, joy, and laughter. Many celebrate community, diversity and friendship.

Following each story time, the videos are shared on Kona Historical Society’s YouTube channel and website.
