Exciting News…

Director, Hannah Kihalani Springer, was voted and approved by the Kona Historical Society Board to be an Emeritus Board member of Kona Historical Society at the May 2025 Membership Meeting. 

Hannah resigned from her active Director role prior to her new Emeritus status designation to accept an appointment by Governor Josh Green, M.D. to the Commission on Water Resource Management (CWRM), effective immediately. Hannah will serve in this post through June 30, 2028, pending confirmation by the Hawaiʻi State Senate.

A huge thank you to Hannah for her decades of service to the Kona Historical Society. Hannah's positive impact on the Kona Historical Society cannot be measured! Mahalo Nui Loa, Hannah! Wishing you much success as you continue to serve the people of Hawaii!
