KONA HISTORICAL SOCIETY 2024 YEAR-END CAMPAIGN!
Please consider supporting the Kona Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, as you plan your year-end giving!
The mission of KHS is to collect, preserve, and share the history of Kona. At our core, we are an education-based non-profit. We maintain two sites listed on the National Register of Historic places and make them available to Kama’aina and visitors. We welcome schools for field trips so students can experience learning beyond the classroom, and we operate youth camps to give keiki exposure to the cultures that make up the building blocks of Kona. We have brought back the very popular Hanohano series, a free community program, where we pick a topic of historic or cultural relevance and provide a talk story of experts in that field, craft demonstration, performances by local hula halau, and live music to share the songs and dance related to the subject area. The following link is a video that we prepared to highlight the role that KHS plays in preserving the history and identity of Kona: https://vimeo.com/639363892
KHS has targeted $100K as a year end fundraising goal for our general operating fund.
We hope that you will also consider becoming a member of KHS (https://konahistorical.org/membership) to keep informed of the upcoming KHS programs and activities including our annual holiday event on Saturday, December 14 at 3pm where we will showcase Martha Greenwell's art exhibit, (Mouse House — Kona Historical Society).
Every contribution, of every size, is greatly appreciated!
Mahalo nui for your time and consideration!
