Kona Historical Society presents the first Off Road Huaka’i of 2025 (formerly Jeep Trips).

Please join us on Saturday May 31, 2025, for a day at Kealapu’ali on Palani Ranch to enjoy the one-woman performance of Isabella Bird: The Hawai’i Sojurn. We will be spending the day at the Old Dairy at Kealapu’ali, where Isabella Bird visited and wrote about her time on the mountain in 1873.

Tickets are $275 per person, and are available to Kona Historical Society members. KHS Members may purchase a ticket for one non-member guest per KHS member. A very limited number of tickets are available for this special event.

Please note, this Off Road Huaka’i will take guests to a remote area of the Big Island. Guests should be capable of walking short distances on uneven terrain and spending the day with limited access to facilities. Four wheel drive vehicles are required — Kona Historical Society is happy to help arrange for carpools for guests who do not have their own four wheel drive vehicle.
