Knead for Community: The Portuguese Stone Oven
Kona Historical Society will be having “Hands On History” activities Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon. at its Kalukalu Headquarters in the city of Kealakekua, which is also where the H.N. Greenwell Store Museum and Stone Oven are located.
These activities help visitors explore Kona’s history in a deeper and more sensory way. Participation in this Hands On History activity is free at the Stone Oven. The Society hopes this program will help perpetuate these cultural traditions and further preserve Kona’s unique stories.
